Aftercare Of your New Tattoo

  1.  After 3 hrs. Remove bandage gently and wash with a mild soap. Do Not Re-bandage
  2. Wash your new tattoo every 2 to 3 hrs, for the next 3 to 4 days with mild soap (dial bar soap) or Antibacterial soap, no wash rags. ( Do Not Use Dish Washing Liquid ! )
  3. Apply a thin layer of A & D Original Ointment each time you wash for the next 3 to 5 days.
  4. After the first 3 to 4 days switch from A & D Ointment to a non scented or natural lotion such as cocoa or shea butter until skin returns back to its pre - tattoo condition.
  5. Do not soak in tub, sauna, jacuzzi, hot tubs or go swimming. Stay out of direct sunlight and tanning booths for at least 7 to 10 days while the tattoo is healing. (showers are ok)
  6. Do not pick, scratch or rub the treated area while healing, wear loose fitting clothes to let the area breath and not to rub the tattoo area. Loss of color or infection could occur.
  7. Keep pets and children away from tattoo at all times, pet hair and dander can infect the tattoo area possibly cause MRSA and staph infection.
  8. Extreme sun exposure over the years can and will fade your tattoo. This can be avoided by using sunscreen and keeping lotion on your tattoos.
  9. Your tattoo should heal with in about 2 weeks. Consult your tattoo artist or physician if any signs or symptoms develop. ie: redness at site, green/yellow discharge ( foul smell) and /or fever.

Aftercare Of Your New Piercing

 What To Do:
  1. Wash your hands prior to touching the piercing, Leave it alone except when cleaning it. 
  2. Wash the area pierced 2 to 3 times a day with regular soap and water.
  3. If it's a mouth piercing use a 50% mouth wash 50% water mix to swish with 2 to 3 times a day.
  4. After you smoke or eat rinse mouth out with water.
  5. Wear clean comfortable clothing that will protect your piercings.
What To Avoid:
  1. Avoid the use of alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, betadine, ointments and medications.
  2. Avoid drug use, caffeine, nicotine, or alcohol. 
  3. Avoid all beauty and personal care products.
  4. Avoid changing the jewelry until fully healed.
  5. Avoid touching the piercing area with dirty hands.
  6. Avoid oral contact, rough play, and contact with other bodily fluids.
If you think the piercing is infected, Do not remove the jewelry. Come in to our studios and ask one of our trained professionals to look at it.
