How We Got Our Name

Have you ever wondered how we come up with our name ?

A lot of people have asked through the years how the owner Shawn Jarvis came to call the company 22 Caliber Tattoo Studios. It's actually a story you wouldn't even have thought of. There have been people try to guess through the years. Some people have acted like it was because of him liking firearms and tried to bash him for it like Derb Morrison the Owner of Hell City tattoo festival. Well they all couldn't be more wrong.

In 2009 Shawn was at home with his then girl friend, her daughter and three nieces. His then girlfriends daughter had gotten sidewalk chalk for easter the week before and they wanted to go out front and play with it on the sidewalk. Which they did. The girls ages ranged from 4 years old to 9 years old. While he was cooking dinner for the kids they came running back into the house saying there was a man out front cursing at them It was his next door neighbor. Shawn went to the door and told the girls to get their chalk and things and move to the side walk where he could see them from the front door. The littlest girl stayed inside to use the bathroom the other three kids went outside to do what he had asked them to do. When they opened the front door the small dog they had followed the girls out. So he looked at his then girlfriend and asked her to watch the food he was cooking while he went out front to get the dog and make sure the kids were okay. When Shawn got outside he got the dog and the girls was showing him their chalk drawings they had done. He looked over and seen where the next door neighbor had used a garden hose to was off a couple of squares of city sidewalk in front of his house where the girls had been drawing. As the girls was showing Shawn the chalk drawings the mans garage door opened up and the man came out to confront Shawn. He walked up to Shawn and put his finger in Shawn's face telling him to keep his mother fucking kids in his own yard. Shawn asked the neighbor to not talk to him that way especially in front of the little girls. The man was pacing back and forth frustrated and kept messing around behind his back. Shawn apologized to the neighbor for the kids drawing on his sidewalk. The neighbor then walked back up to Shawn and told him he thought he was playing him. Shawn told the neighbor he didn't understand what that ment to what Shawn had said to him. The neighbors frustration grew worse and Shawn told him he would just go into the house and call the police and he could tell them all about the issue. Shawn turned to the girls and told them to come into the house and started to walk away from the neighbor in hopes the man would calm down and go about his way. When Shawn got to the other side of the driveway he turned back to make sure the girls were coming with him and it was the neighbor following him and the man pulled a gun from his back pocket and took a shot at Shawn's head. The bullet went by Shawn just missing him. Shawn dropped the dog and started ducking and weaving through his yard as the neighbor reached the other side of the driveway he took another shot at Shawn and missed again. Shawn jumped over some bushes and then went to dive in front of his pickup truck parked in the driveway and the neighbor shot again only this time he shot in front of Shawn and as he dove the bullet hit Shawn in his hand. (HIS TATTOO HAND) The neighbor was at the back of Shawn's truck trying to get another shot at shawn. Shawn faked him out and made him think he was going one way and went the other. Shawn whips open the front door telling his girlfriend to call 911 that he had just been shot. He then runs up stairs to get his own gun. As he runs down the stairs he is trying to rack the firearm and his hands are so bloody he cant and hits the top step falls and slides to the bottom of the stairs on his ass. He quickly gets up and is going out front he opens the screen door and the little girls are coming in the house they see Shawn with the firearm and scream he rushes them into the house. As he goes to take a step out the door again the police are already rolling up and Shawn is taken to the hospital to be treated. 

Answer:
He was actually shot protecting 4 little girls.

The Verdict 

The man who shot Shawn got 8 years in prison and Shawn named his company after the incident.
